June 5, 2013 FACTSnet Meeting Minutes

Dragon’s Den:

Alliah

·         Trying to organize factsnet.org so it can be easily accessible and to navigate

o   Debating use of a new website just to reorganize the website

·         Sustainability: Getting organizations to collaborate

·         Grey Nuns: Will set up for the long term

Damian

Do a back to school seminar for Constituency- Dave will promote to school and try to host it in a church associated with the school

Parents As Coaches Back to School Seminar:

·  6:30 meet panel and group participants

·  7pm Panel and/or presentation

·  7:30 Networking groups (15min intro.)

o Adaptability/Disability - Damian & Brandon - Need Screen and chat program for Damian to communicate

o Personal Development - Carole, Trudy and Melody – Mullen’s book

o Technology for family (how to keep it low cost and keeping kids out of trouble Alison, Mehmet and David

o Deanna?  

·  8:30 networking

*Parents can come at any time

For the Symposium

·         Province has just made major changes for disabilities

·         Try to have more panel sessions to facilitate networking

*Next week’s meeting, we will still be meeting at NAIT but Dave will not be here. Matt will organize up the meeting          

*Alliah will not be working from July 6-29

*Brandon will not be working from June 23-29

·  Intro - Link to plan 2013

·  Parents seminar - Staff help out come 1/2 hour early: try to get parents to come at 6:30 for this.  Let parents know.  Emphasis Registration factsume.

·  Symposium-Brandon- blurb about what it is about and what we want

·  OH Canada -Link –Mehmet: create something to rank best to worst in a poll to get ratings
