What FACTSnet is about

·         “Dialogue with a difference”

·         Connect networks one strand at a time

·         Value Based Medium- without values, “anything goes” (we just do whatever we want without guidance)

o   Will need to revise- address the issue

o   Action Required: Alliah, Alison, David

·         Hiring and working with people with disabilities has become a priority in FACTSnet

·         Set up standards for transition for future years

Making a standardized format so future generations of FACTSnet are able to pick up on the information

Outline for Parents as Coaches Seminar

·         Date and time: July 16 (7-9PM) @ Calvary Community Church

·         Arrive at 6PM to set up-Everyone

·         Nicole will email to advertise to her contacts

·         Main Idea: Parents need to take part in children’s life (school, extracurricular, etc.)

·         Parents need to develop a foundation for their values so they can guide their children following these values. If parents don’t have understanding of how they want their children to be nurtured, how will they be able to do so?

·         Anyone interested can contribute from our team

·         Government policies has changed

Topics:

1.      Coaching your Children Prenatal to Post Secondary.

2.      Inclusion what it means for you and your children

3.      Technology for the family summer 2013

Ex. Helping families find good cellphone plans that is suited for them

4.      Personal Development for you and your children (flags)

a.       Helps find out about your abilities and how to interact with others with other personalities

5.      Participating in the dialogue beyond the seminar afterwards

·         Question: will we be inviting the children as well or just the parents (importance of considering audience)?

o   Parents will be the main audience
